Support at Home has replaced the old Home Care Package system.
Support at Home is Australia’s new in-home aged care system. Launched on 1 November 2025, it replaces Home Care Packages with a model that’s clearer, more flexible and easier for older Australians and their families to understand.
The new program is designed around transparency and choice — so you can confidently plan the support that helps you stay safe, comfortable and independent at home.
How it supports you
Quarterly budget based on your level
Your funding renews every three months, making planning simpler.
A flat 10% care management fee
Clear, consistent and set for all providers under the program.
No entry or exit fees — ever
You’re free to change or adjust support without penalty.
Unspent funds roll over
Anything you don't use moves into the next quarter—up to $1,000 or 10% of your subsidy, whichever is larger.
